These benefits include enhanced flight crew situational awareness, a platform to incorporate future safety-enhancing technology such as airport taxi maps, data link weather, surface guidance and enhanced visions systems and the benefit of aircraft life extension by proactively managing CRT obsolescence. #### L2 Expands Military Services with KC-10 ADS-B Upgrade Subcontract for Remote Avionics Modification Installation Program with KC-10 ADS-B Upgrade Dripping Springs, Texas – November 11, 2019 – L2 Aviation announced today they have been awarded an avionics installation subcontract from Collins Aerospace. L2’s Remote Avionics Modification Services (RAMS) teams will install the Mode-5 Automatic Dependent SurveillanceBroadcast (ADS-B) upgrades for the U.S. Air Force KC 10 Extender Aerial Refueling Tanker Fleet under Solicitation Number FA8105-19-R-0006. L2 Aviation will provide multiple Contract Field Teams to complete 58 KC-10 installations at select sites around the United States, most efficient for Air Force operations. Based on L2’s long-standing remote installation success, completing projects in the least amount of aircraft downtime, L2 was selected by Collins Aerospace to perform four concurrent modification lines, to meet the KC-10’s fleet Mode-5/ADS-B activation goals. Mark Lebovitz, President L2 Aviation, said, “The KC-10 ADS-B scope is an important program award for L2 Aviation as we build on our 22-year history of successful remote installations, minimizing aircraft out of service time, and expanding our solutions into the military and government segments . This award demonstrates our never-ending commitment supporting the military with our Contractor Field Teams, Group A-kit Manufacturing, and Avionics Integration Capabilities.” #### L2 Large Display Systems (LDS) Just Keeps Shipping Out L2 Aviation in Dripping Springs, TX, just outside of Austin is accelerating its production of PMA installation kits for the STC to modify and modernize B757 and B767 cockpits. These modifications go from six Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) primary flight displays (LDS) plus numerous analog instruments to three 15.1” Rockwell Collins large EFIS displays plus the required standby instruments. The upgrade and certification were completed for Star Air through a collaborative effort between Rockwell Collins, Boeing and L2 Aviation. The primary benefits of modernization are economic efficiency through a >150lb weight reduction, massively improved display system reliability, removing 16 LRUs from a spares inventory and Boeing flight deck commonality between the LDS and the B737 Max and B787. Plus, operators have calculated a three year payback using standard market assumptions. Over 5 airlines have already committed to install the LDS into their fleets of B767 and/or B757 aircraft. There are roughly 750 B767s and 700 B757s that are eligible for this modernization and the operators who rely on a fleet of these workhorse aircraft are strongly considering this upgrade to extend their aircraft’s life with the future NextGen airspace transformation requirements. L2 took this project on with typical Program Management dedication as evidenced by developing and using a new, proprietary Wire Analysis and Listing Tool (WALT), completing everything and being awarded the FAA STC ahead of the year-long project schedule by 17 days. L2 designed a new Instrument Panel (IP) out of a single block of aluminum, all wiring harnesses and other support bracketry and cockpit control panels for the replacement of the CRT “As Built” cockpit instrumentation and equipment. This STC marks the 25th FAA STC for L2 Aviation since 1997. They have become the industry expert right behind Boeing, in the B767 and B757 cockpit integration and modernization. Airlines are now using QAR data collection to see more of what is really happening inside and on their assets, thereby extending the lives of older aircraft making these modernization decisions much easier to make and install. It is now proven that these legacy airplanes can continue to deliver more net profit per aircraft for their shareholders and their companies. Five more LDS kits being prepped for shipping, behind the L2 B767 Mockpit® used for the LDS design and installation instructions. #### L2 Receives FAA Amended STC for Iridium SATCOM – Safety Voice on B757 STC adds Iridium SATCOM – ATS Safety Voice and TouchDU display Dripping Springs, Texas – February 21, 2019 – L2 Aviation, a recognized leader in avionics modifications and installations, has been awarded an amended Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a major US Carrier to install an Iridium Satcom system for worldwide SATVOICE safety Services in compliance with AC 20-150B. The upgrade will begin with 15 of the airlines’ fleet of 757-200 aircraft. This project expanded upon L2’s existing STC ST10938SC to add the latest available avionics equipment for SATVOICE and integrating a new Gables Engineering TouchDU multifunction touchscreen display. “This is a landmark technology upgrade for L2 as it provides full integration of ATS Safety Voice on a 757 aircraft,” said Kevin Paul, L2 Vice President, Engineering Value Stream. “L2 makes it a practice to focus on providing the latest technological and safety advances for its customers. This project reinforces our pursuit. We remain ready to offer this STC to the many other global airlines that continue to see value in the B757 platform.” The installation of the Gables TouchDU replaces the previously installed ACARS Data Link Control Panel (DLC-800) as a dedicated touchscreen display for ARINC 739 subsystems ACARS, CPDLC, and SATCOM. The program was awarded to L2 by a major US Carrier to provide certification, design engineering, on-site engineering support, kit manufacturing and overall project management for this upgrade project. In August of 2018, L2 announced an STC for the Collins Aerospace Iridium Satcom on the A330- 200/-300 aircraft, which included Iridium installation with ATS Safety Voice service. The ATS Safety Voice service provides aircraft operators with an alternative to one existing HF radio or enhancing dispatch capability with an additional secure satellite-based option for long-range communications. L2 STC Service Bulletin (SB) upgrades for SATVOICE are also available for the B777 and B757 now, with the B737 and B767 SB approvals scheduled for April. #### L2 Viasat Galaxy 1 Onboarding CINCINNATI & ERLANGER, Ky. – May 4, 2026 – PRLog — Viasat Inc., a global leader in satellite communications, today announced L2 Aviation has joined its Velaris ecosystem via Galaxy 1 Communications: bringing advanced avionics integration and certification expertise to Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and uncrewed aviation.Until now, the AAM sector has focused primarily on technical feasibility demonstrations. However, scaling operations safely depends on embedding connectivity into certified avionics architectures that can operate within regulated airspace. By welcoming L2 Aviation into the Velaris ecosystem, Viasat has taken a further step towards closing that gap.L2 Aviation is a globally established avionics design, engineering, certification, manufacturing and installation specialist with nearly three decades of experience delivering safety-critical aircraft modifications across commercial, business, cargo and military fleets. Through the Velaris ecosystem, L2 will apply this expertise to support the integration and certification of satellite communications (satcom) for uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and AAM platforms as they transition from demonstration to deployment.Viasat Velaris provides global satellite connectivity designed specifically for uncrewed and emerging aircraft, enabling command and control and other essential operational data links. The Velaris ecosystem connects connectivity, integration, and service partners to help operators move from early deployments to compliant, scalable operations. The move follows March’s news that Galaxy 1 Communications is collaborating with Viasat to enhance the delivery of Velaris within the industry. Working closely with Viasat, Galaxy 1 is extending the reach of Velaris through its Distribution Partner-as-a-Service (DPaaS) model and bringing further experts, like L2 Aviation, into the ecosystem. Rather than acting as a traditional distributor, Galaxy 1 provides a managed operational layer that abstracts the complexity of provisioning, billing, compliance oversight and integration into a unified framework.“Right now, the industry is focused on what it will take to enable routine, regulated AAM operations, so it is clear that certification-ready connectivity and avionics integration must advance together,” said Joel Klooster, SVP Aircraft Operations and Safety at Viasat. “Bringing L2 Aviation into the Velaris ecosystem through Galaxy 1 reflects that shift from proving concepts to building operational capability. Their experience strengthens how Velaris supports the next phase of AAM deployment, where safety, certification, and scalability are immediate priorities.”“Advanced Air Mobility will not scale on capability alone. It will scale when that capability is engineered into certified, operational systems that regulators trust and operators can rely on every day,” said Tony Bailey, President and Chief Operating Officer at L2 Aviation. “Our role within the Velaris ecosystem is to integrate satellite connectivity into avionics architectures that meet real-world certification standards. Working alongside Viasat Inc. and Galaxy 1 Communications, we are focused on delivering systems that are certifiable, scalable, and ready to support routine AAM and uncrewed operations.”“Advancing safe, scalable UAV and AAM operations requires more than just connectivity—it demands a fully integrated, certifiable ecosystem,” said Gino Jensen, Chief Technology Officer at Galaxy 1 Communications. “Our programme is focused on delivering exactly that, combining resilient multi-network communications with the operational frameworks needed for regulated flight.
