SmartRunwayTM
and SmartLandingTM
on Boeing 767

that the company has completed FAA Supplemental Type
Certificate (STC) certification for Honeywell’s
SmartRunwayTM and SmartLandingTM
on the Boeing 767. L2 revised its existing Runway
Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) FAA STC (ST10466SC)
to include the additional runway and landing safety
features which improve situational awareness with aural
and graphical alerts to the flight crew.

investment augmenting this STC in order to offer the
latest runway safety features to our customers today,”
said L2 President Mark Lebovitz. “Our certification
team’s professional effort over the last six months
reflects the dedication required to provide the first
SmartRunwayTM and SmartLandingTM
STC on an air transport class aircraft.”
The Honeywell SmartRunwayTM
is the next generation upgrade that improves situational
awareness by providing timely advisories which now
include graphical alerts to the flight crew and advises
them of their position during taxi, takeoff, final
approach, landing and rollout. The Honeywell
SmartLandingTM product is designed to help
reduce the risk of a runway incursion by providing
timely alerts to crew members when the aircraft is
approaching the runway too high, too fast or is not
configured properly.
