L2 Consulting Services, Inc. Completes 757 Iridium
Certification Project for Major Carrier
AUSTIN, Texas –
May 15, 2009 -L2 Consulting Services, Inc. (L2) is
pleased to announce that it successfully
certified an International Communications Group (ICG)
NxtLink series ICS-220A Iridium satellite communication
system on a 757 Series aircraft. The system allows voice
and ACARS operations beyond land-based VHF coverage. The
Supplemental Type Certificate (STC #ST10938SC) was
certified for both the ICG NxtLink ICS-120A (single
transceiver) and the ICS-220A (dual transceiver).
L2 President, Mark Lebovitz said, "We are extremely
pleased to have successfully supported our customer`s
route expansion plans by providing an expedited schedule
for the first NxtLink Iridium STC on the 757 aircraft."
The NxtLink ICS-220A device is a comprehensive
communications system that provides the Flight Crew with
a dedicated Datalink channel to support; ACARS, FANs
messaging, CPDLC and an exclusive global voice channel.
L2 currently holds existing Iridium certifications on
B737, B757, B767 and B747 aircraft.
